America's Sustainability

How do we keep in existence the Christian Values our country

set up to preserve and pass on to future generations?

Characteristic 5,6,&7

Characteristic #5 He needs to be a leader that has sexual morality. Proverbs 31:2-3 “What, my son? And What, son of my womb? An What, son of my vows? Do not give your strength to women, Nor your ways to that which destroys kings.” Friends that is what God says. I am telling you that if a man cannot keep his marriage vows he is not fit for leadership. The Bible says that is destroys kings! If a man cannot keep earths most sacred vow that is to his wife how can he keep his other promises. If a man cannot control his sexual urges how shall he act in a time of national crisis? If a man cannot set a moral tone for himself; how can he set a moral tone for the next generation of boys and girls?

Characteristic #6 He needs to be someone who is sober. Proverbs 31:4-5 “It is not for kings, O Lemuel, It is not for kings to drink wine, nor for princes intoxicating drink; Lest they drink and forget the law, and pervert the justice of all the afflicted” A man who is prone to intoxicants or drugs is unfit for national leadership.

Characteristic #7 He needs to be a man who will protect the weak.  Proverbs 31: 8-9 “Open your mouth for the speechless, in the cause of all who are appointed to die. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and need.” If he does not have a protective spirit, he has missed what it takes to be a national leader. Why does God give us leaders, civil magistrates? To protect us from evil people. Leaders are those that are the protectors of them that cannot protect themselves. Now listen carefully; when someone is about to be killed and cannot speak for themselves the king is to speak for them. Here is what God says again: “Open your mouth for the speechless, in the cause of all who are appointed to die. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and need.” He needs to be someone who has a heart of compassion for the needy the poor and the innocent who are about to be destroyed and cannot speak for themselves. The Bible calls them the speechless the inarticulate.

I want to try and illustrate a story I heard from Dr. Rogers who went to Washington to testify before a Senate hearing on the subject of abortion. After he gave his testimony, a woman followed him out into the corridor. She was a lawyer. She put her hands on her hips looked him in the face then put her finger in his face and said Dr. Rogers, you don’t understand being a male, you don’t understand the trauma for a woman to have and unwanted pregnancy. You just don’t understand that! He said help me understand? Are you saying that a person being traumatized by another person, the person being traumatized has a right to destroy the person giving them that trauma? Because if that is what you are saying; you are traumatizing me right now! Then he said suppose I stick both my thumbs down your wind pipe and throttle you right here. She backed away a little bit and he said that’s right! You can back away. You have two legs, you can run, you can scream, you can cry for help! But what about that little baby who cannot scream, who cannot cry, who cannot run? Who is going to speak up for that child!

God says the king is to speak up for these kinds of people. Let me say it a different way. Our President, our state and federal representatives and our judges are not to endorse their destruction.
