Dilemma pt 3 & 4

Characteristic #3 He must be and honest man. Proverbs 17:7 “Excellent speech is not becoming to a fool, much less lying lips to a prince.” Proverbs 20:28 “Mercy and truth preserve the king, and by loving-kindness he upholds his throne.”

Liar and leaders are not the same. If a man doesn’t tell the truth he has a major character flaw and unfit for leadership. When a man tells lies my friend, it tells me something about a man’s heart. Any man that is a liar has a heart that is like the devil. I didn’t say that the Lord Jesus said it. John 8:44 when he was talking to the Pharisees “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of you father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.” If a man is a liar, he is not a leader and should not be trusted or elected.

Characteristic #4 He must be discriminating in his choice of advisors or team. If a man does not surround himself with good and godly people that man is unfit to lead.  This is what God has to say Proverbs 25:4-5 “Take away the dross from silver, and it will go to the silversmith for jewelry. Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne will be established in righteousness.”

Now a leader is known by the people he chossed to surround himself. If a king surrounds himself with wicked people, his throne cannot be righteous. He cannot be a person who listens to lies. The Bible says in Proverbs 29:12 “If a ruler pays attention to lies, all his servants become wicked.” If this man is not discriminating enough to choose the right people to help him lead, this man is not fit for national leadership.
